What Do Warts & Verrucas Look Like?
Warts and verrucas can appear differently depending on their type and location on the body. Here’s what to look for:
Warts (Common Warts)
- Firm, rough surfaceÂ
- Flesh-coloured or slightly darker
- Often occur on fingers, knuckles, kneesÂ
Verrucas (Planter Warts)
- Flat and hard due to pressure from standingÂ
- Found on the soles of the feet
- May have black dots in the centre (clotted blood vessels)
- Can be painful when walkingÂ
Other Types
- Filiform warts (long and narrow, often on the face)
- Mosaic warts (Clusters of plantar warts)
- Periungual warts (around nails)
